The Karolus monogram - also called Charlemagne's monogram - was the official sign of Charlemagne. In Aachen, the monogram can be found as a bronze plate, which shows visitors the way through the historic city center of Aachen. Did you know: Printen were the favorite pastry of Emperor Charlemagne. His love for the traditional Aachen pastry is said to have been so great that the recipe for the Printen was placed in his grave.
