How did the wooden boxes - also called export boxes - come about?
After the end of the Second World War, more and more Printen orders from Aacheners abroad reached the Nobis bakery. What was missing was a nice and suitable packaging to send the Printen to the people who did not want to miss their favorite product even outside Aachen. So Netty Nobis developed a Printen box made of wood. Netty Nobis was the wife of Heinz Nobis, the grandson of the company founder Johannes Michael Nobis. Thanks to Netty Nobis' idea, Printen have been shipped in the wooden box since 1957. And so Netty Nobis also coined this old rhyme: This box, invented by us, and imitated by so many, externally it resembles all, but Nobis -Printen remain unmatched.
