Did you know: The name "Printe" developed from the English "print" and the Dutch "prent" and means something like "press". The term is also used in the Öcher Platt and describes a tool for pressing or also an imprint. The background to this is that the Printen bakers pressed the dough of the Printen into carved wooden models so that the pastry got its traditional shape.
